ASN Winter Potluck – a simple holiday party. Thursday, December 4th, 6:30pm to 9:00pm, at the Flag and Banner Building. Potluck style dinner (We’ll supply beverages, roasted veggies and rice.) Holiday craft table for the kids.  Entertainment by Beth Wood (www.bethwoodmusic.com) and Downtown Divas.  Beth, who will be touring through from Colorado, has played at Acoustic Sounds Cafe on other trips to Little Rock, and Downtown Divas you’ll remember from the Spaghetti Potluck. The Carolina Farm Stewardship Association (CFSA) is happy to present the world-wide web based seminar: Building New Farmer Incubation Programs

Learn more about the ways in which incubator farms are reaching out to address the challenges of new farmer access to land, new farmer practical training, regional food sovereignty, farmland preservation, and other vital considerations in the local food movement.

This webinar will include four 30 minute presentations by managers of existing farm incubation programs from throughout the US.

Permaculture
December 18th, 7pm to 8pm, at ASN
– Monthly focus on sustainable living. Learn about permaculture through informal conversation and exploring media. Coined by Australians Bill Mollison and David Holmgren during the 1970s, permaculture is permanent agriculture as well as permanent culture. Designing human settlements to include perennial agricultural systems that mimic the structure and interrelationship found in natural ecologies.
